Applicants must be at least 18 and must have an awereness of language and a competence in English, both written and spoken, that enables them to undertake the course and prepare for teaching a range of levels.
Applicants need to be at a level equivalent to or above Aspect Intermediate level, ALTE level B1 or IELTS 4.5.
General English Component (30hrs)
The General English courses use communicative English language teaching techniques to concentrate on the four skills: listening, reading, speaking and writing. There is also a focus on vocabulary development and pronunciation, in conjunction with practice and extension of grammatical structures.
Teacher Training and TKT preparation Component. (40 hrs)
Students cover 3 main syllabus areas
1) Language and the background to language learning and teaching.
2) Lesson planning and use of resources for language teaching.
3) Managing the teaching and learning process.

For the General English component the materials are as given for this course, appropriate to the level.
For the teacher Training and TKT component extensive use is made of published EFL textbooks and supplementary materials.
In addition, ELT journals and magazines are used, as well as videos of lessons, and some classroom observations.
